Dewin

Dewin, male SHort-Eared Owl. He is a great stradgist and he knows pretty much everything thanks to hsi parents being able to read.

Dewin
The Brain of The Clan
Dewin yawned, his huge gaping beak showing that he was hungry as well. He stared at his other and father with proud golden eyes. He already kn ew how to speak in full scentences. "Mother, Father, I am so hungry. Could I have a worm?" His parents smiled, "Sure Dewin." His mother said in a firm, gentle voice. "We already gathered some for you." SHe went to the back of the hollow and grabbed a wriggling worm. Dewin was pumped to see it was still wriggling and warm. He swallowed it whole as soon as his mother gave it to him.
He yanwed and froze, he heard something. He twirled his head to hear better, trying to aim for the sound like his parents told him. He heard a tiny schreech, wasn't a mouse, but a Tyto. He stared out the hollow and saw a pair of Tytos. Barn Owls. He blinked, could they be mates? To have chicks? Maybe now he could have friends. He watched as the lnaded on the branch nearest to his hollow. They stared in with malice and looked terrifying. He gulped and they charged in, their talons outstreched. They grabbed his parents and threw them out the hollow, but made sure they broke their wings.
Dewin screeched and wriggled as oen of them grabbed him and flew off. They were churring something about "Pureness". That was all he heard before he wriggled out of their grasp and fell. He was fledged, but he still didn't learn how to fly yet. He just started branching! he flapped and eventually, he fell slowed down and he was gliding. He sighed in relef and he landed near a hollow, where he saw a group of owls. The Clan. He didn't know yet, but this was the group he would make plans for, and then, he would actually have a home.

Frostbite

This is Frostbite. She is such a fliver when it comes to Flint. XD

The Story of Frostbite
The Healer of The Clan

Frostbite was tossed by a warrior, she screeched and she fell, down, towards the great ocean... and a Great Gray and a Great Horned dived after her crying, "Frostbite! Frostbite!" And then, everything went black...
The young Snowy woke up with a start, and she calmed down. All a dream. She sighed and relaxed, the day still raging on outside her Northern Kingdoms hollow on the Firth of Fangs, her heart raging and her gizzard clenching, trying to chill down.
Frostbite looked up, she has been oprpahned since she could fly short distances, and she has asked the polar bear that lives under her, named Svryia, to give her fish. Svryia has became a mother figure to Frostbite, and she learned many skills of survival from that old polar bear. But, now she knew she had to fend for herself and fish for herself, for the polar bear was now becoming a mother, she was heavy with cub and wouldn't come out of her den until the cubs could walk for themselves.
She felt dread and sadness fill her gizzard, that was like... a whole year! How would she survive without her wonderful motherly bear and her glorious fish? She stared at her storage area, kept cold enough for the fish to be preserved, she had plenty of fish, enough to live on for a moon cycle. But, nonetheless, she still had to fish for herself.
She sighed gently and looked out her hollow and flew out, loving to be gently tossed around by the winds. She loved the gentle coolness of these winds from the smee holes and she couldn't wait for the polar bear gatherings here every night, where species of her motherly figure would gather and share news of fishing. She shivered, and maybe she will see Svryia's mate, Vaygar. Vaygar always was an odd bear, he has a Vay name instead of the regular Svr names of normal polar bears. He was more of a social bear, which surprised Frostbite, for male polar bears weren't the most public of animals.
She floated around and then, something caught her eye. She saw a Barn Owl, male, for the looks of his feathers. She stopped and flapped hard to keep herself stopped with the tossing winds of the kingdoms she lived in, and watched the male.
He landed on a boulder and she saw, he had battle claws! Covered in dry blood.. and she saw his breast feathers, coated in blood, newly spilled. He was in a battle! But, those battle claws don't look like they came from here, they looked like the metals of the Southern Kingdoms, and made my the Rougesmith of Silverveil, no doubt.
Frostbite shivered. Is he a Pure One? The owls which have stirred a small amount of murders in the Southern Kingdoms? He mentor, a healer, told her of them, they cause most of their journeys to the Southern Kingdoms, but, they haven't been really made public yet.
Frostbite clenched her talons and flew back to her hollow, fear gripping her gizzard. She never listened to her instincts, but now she had to. She turned and flew to the Southern Kingdoms, holding a botkin full of herbs. Mostly, these were for major battle wounds, and re-opened scars, and to stop infection. She was determined to get word, to protect others, and to heal any wounded owl she could find.
____________________________________________________________________

She had been flying for days, no fear of crows, and she finally made it. She saw the Cape Glaux ahead and landed there and rested quickly, before flying into the heart woods of Ambala. Where, the Pure Ones were said to be.
She landed on a tree, with no owls on it, and it seems never has been on owl on it. She nestled into the empty hollow and placed her botkin inside. She was young, barely 7 moon cycles old, but she was brave, and she learned many herbal uses that she took to heart.
She sighed and stared out, she saw a forest fire in the distance. Well, I don't know how much help I will be there. She closed her golden eyes, and fell a sound, dreamless, sleep.
______________________________________________________________

She woke up with a start as she heard voices outside her hollow. She wilfed and hid herself as three young owls stepped in, one a Great Gray, one a Northern Saw-Whet, and one, a large, handsome Great Horned, with a burned wing! She coughed slightly and the owls bristled and looked at her.
"No, no, I am no enemy." She assured them and they relaxed. The female Great Gray introduced them. "I am Dawn, and this is Frigitha, known as Friggy, and this is Flint. May we stay at your hollow?" Frostbite nodded, "I am Frostbite, and this isn't really my hollow, I just rented it to rest. For, I am going to stop the Pure Ones from hurting anyone else. Since, I am a healer." Friggy looked excited, "A healer! Oh wonderful! I heard of you guys, you specialize in herbs and other stuff and you heal wounded owls that go into battle!" Frostbite nodded and flushed, "But, I am still in training." She looked towards Flint, "That wing looks bad, let me put something on it so the bald spots don't get infected with the ashes." Flint sighed, "Fine.. but don't pluck anything would you?"
As she grabbed some herbs and smashed them with her talons, the owls told their stories. Dawn said simply, after telling her tale, "We are all basically orphans, trying to find a purpose in life." Frostbite nodded and started to rub the smashed herbs on Flint's wings, "I see. Interesting tales, I am an orphan as well, but I was orphaned more at birth." She lied getnly, not wanting to tell them she has a foster parents that is a polar bear.
Flint sighed, "That... actually feels good. Thanks Frostbite!" Frostbite churred gently, "No problem to it, its what I do everyday."
Dawn put her beak in her brust and sighed, "Well... Frostbite, can you join us? We are on a mission, mostly to find the Guardians of Ga'Hoole." Frostbite tremored, excited to go to the Great Tree and learn real healing arts. "Of course I will come!" I am sure Svryia won't mind if I go for a visit... just to learn the healing arts.

But it doesn't end with her going back to Svryia~~~~~

Flint

Flint. He is innocent. Trust me. (Or, I think he is)

Flint. Male Great Horned Owl. He is darker, which gives him his name. He is a warrior, but not so much a flier. He has noisy flight because he taught himself to fly and his feathers are a bit burned from a forest fire in his home forest. They caused damage and now, he is a horrible flier because of that. He tries to keep up with The Clan, but often has help from Dawn or Frostbite. He is known as the warrior of The Clan.

The Story of Flint
The Warrior of The Clan

Flint's life begins in a hollow in the forests of Ambala. He hatched later then most chicks, but he grew faster, and ended growth faster than normal chicks as well.
Flint looked up and looked out his hollow, he was dazzled by the lovely lights of the sunset. Firey orange, mixes with a pink and a lavander, and sometimes, before a storm, a lovely blood-red.
Flint stuck his head out and the wind blew his newly-fledged faceial feathers, as black as ash. And he caught something on the wind. It smelled like smoke. He looked over and saw a tree, glowing orange with black air coming from it. His tufts shot up alertly and he hooted to his parents, "Fire!" His parents rustled awake and looked at their son. His father, named Tratan looked at him, and yawned, "Did you say fire, Flint?" Flint nodded, "The tree nearby is glowing with flames! We must get out before it-" He stopped and screeched and the hollow filled with smoke and flames flickered in the enterence.
He flapped his wings and ran to the enterence and he flew up flames licking after him. He stumbled in flight and looked at his wings, sodden with ash and some of the feathers burning away. He dropped lower and lower... and being a new flier he didn't know how to react. He falpped madly and brought himself high enough to escape the flames and smoke and almost went yeep as he saw a little female Northern Saw-Whet owl, barely fledged, lying on the ground cold. He swopped down and grabbed her and tried to support the extra weight in his flight.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Flint landed once he left the forest fire and panted and rested, happy the chick didn't awake.
After a few hours passed, he grabbed the chick and flew up again, stumbling by his burnt wings.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As the chick awoken, then they slowly became friends and then they met Dawn, the proclaimed leader of their group. And slowly, the others became more visible.
He always was best friends with Frostbite, who helps him fly in difficult storms.

Yes I know, that was pretty god-darn short XD

Frigitha "Friggy"

This is Frigitha! Cute Owl. <3

Frigitha. A tiny female Northern Saw-Whet Owl. She is hyper, but she contains her excitement about everything and tries to be calm and loving, as she thinks she should be. She was babied as an owlet, but Dawn taught her how to be independent. She is glad she can hunt for herself and she isn't that well of a flier, but can make due. She tries to be the owl who calms the owls from fighting in The Clan. The Story of Frigtha
The Heart of The Clan
Friggy woke up happily and stared at her mother, who was preening her little brother, Oggy, or formally known as Oggith. Oggith was always crazy and messing up his downy feathers. Friggy always laughed at little Oggy, such a male! Her mother smiled at her, "Friggy! Just in time for First Black, your father is out hunting now." Little Friggy smiled, her family life was so perfect. How could anything go wrong?!
Oggy moaned, "Can I go play now, Mum!" Mother churred softly, "Go ahead Oggy, but, if you play too roughly I will have to preen you again." She said, with a tint of scolding in her voice. Oggy sighed, "Yes mum.. I understand.." Then he tumbled to Friggy, his down already messed up and clottered with moss. Friggy churred to him, "Look! You already have to be preened!" Oggy mumbled, "What! No I don't!" Mother walked over and started to comb his feathers with her beak and she scolded with a churr, "Oggy, Oggy, Oggy... look at you!"
Oggy mumbled something and closed his eyes, trying to enjoy the grooming. Friggy smiled and looked out her hollow, looking for her father who should appear any minute now, with worms for Oggy and herself and two voles for himself and Mother.
She sighed and stared at her downy fluff and shivered when she saw a tuft fall off and leave a small tan and white spot. She didn't want to fledge! That meant that she would have to leave the hollow... but, at least then she could finally fly, by herself and not in the talons of her small parents.
Friggy looked up and quinted, she saw something glimmering on the tree about a couple wingflaps away from her's. She narrowed her eyes and saw... it was fire! She screamed and then the fire grew larger in a matter of seconds. Her mother looked out the hollow and gasped, "Oh dear!" And in a matter of minutes the fire crowned to their hollow and her mother tried frantically to go in flight holding Friggy and Oggy both. Then, the hollow was engulfed.
Friggy screeched and she jumped out the hollow and landed on the ground and was knocked out cold.
____________________________________________________________________________________
Friggy woke up to feel a small wind in her feathers and the hooting of a Great Horned Owl. She moaned and opened her eyes and saw a male Great Horned, barely older than her. "Hi, name is Flint." He hooted gently. "I was in the fire and saw you... so I saved you. But, I saw your parents and your brother got burned... I am sorry I couldn't save them."
Friggy was devasted, she couldn't help but weep as Flint, a weak flier, flew down and landed. Frigitha crawled out of his grasp and stared at him, "Thanks for saving me, my name is Frigitha, but call me Friggy." Flint nodded, "I...I can stay with you... because my parents were lost in the fire..." Flint's horns dropped down and his eyes watered with tears. Friggy gently touched his lower belly with her wing, "Yes, we can stay together. Protect each other, and we will become great friends!" She looked up and say a female Great Gray chick, red and silvery gray sitting on a fig tree branch and she blinked. "Hello?" And soon, they become a small group of three. Flint, Frigitha, and Dawn.

Dawn

Dawn, is the leader of The Clan, she is an excellent owl, in my opinion. ^^

This is Dawn. She is a female Great Gray Owl, obviously. She is light gray, with white spots and silvery streaks.
She has brown streaks in her lower body, and she has pale golden eyes. She is kind, but tough, and she is an excellent warrior. She has long, black talons and she is very smart and knows a lot of the things in the owl world. Like flecks, moon blinking, and about the Pure Ones, she had a bad experience with them as an owlet. When her parents died, an eagle fostered her. Her name was Amidali. Very nice eagle. Anyways, I will stop blabbering and get on with her story!

The Story of Dawn
The Leader of The Clan

Dawn's story begins in a fig tree hollow in the forests of Ambala.
An eagle was flying along, peacefully, looking for a nice, plump rabbit to bring back to her nest. She heard something, something strange. She looked down, and saw on a fig tree where two Great Grays, a female and a male, fighting for their lives! Against them where three Barn Owls, and one Grass Owl, and they were fighting, to the death.
Amidali dived down and slitted a Barn Owl's throat and he fell and hit the ground with a loud thud, his head almost coming clear off.
Amidali screeched and the remaining owls, one Barn Owl and the Grass Owl flew off scattering their feathers everywhere. Amidali looked at the Great Grays, to her horror, there was an egg in the nest! And, the two parents looked battered up, they wouldn't make the night, the large eagle presumed.
She sighed and she entered the roomy hollow and she incubated the egg, at least tomorrow it should hatched, she thought. She closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
__________________________________________________________
Amidali woke up with a start, dawn was upon her, and the little egg was hatching! She got up and looked down as a small blob spurted out of the pure white shell. She smiled, so this was like being a mother!
Then it hit her, the small one would she food! She quickly flew out and grabbed a worm she saw on a small, sparkling leaf, of a gray flower Amidali liked to call "Dawn Flowers" because they looked so much like the light of day which she flew out to hunt for herself.
She flew to the hollow and gently poked the wriggling worm to the owlet's beak, it opened it and swallowed it, headfirst, even if its eyes where closed shut, she found its head. Amidali just swelled with pride.
__________________________________________________________
About a moon cycle pasted, the owlet was almost fully fledged, she only had a couple downy tufts left to go. She was almost eager to pull them off, but her mother, Amidali said, it was against bird-nature to pluck off feathers. She looked eagerly at Amidali, "Mommy! You said once I fledged you would name me!"
Amidali smiled down at the owlet, "Of course... I can't break a promise can I? Well, you are light....like Dawn! And you have such a bright personalty... and you were born at Dawn.... I shall name you Dawn, my dearest owlet..."
Dawn smiled, she loved her name! "Dawn..." she repeated. "I love it!" she squealed with joy, today she was going to learn how to fly, and she got a name! Dawn just couldn't believe how well this day was going! Amidali turned to her, "Okay, just watch me." Amidali flew out the hollow and went up higher, and she did graceful movements and landed again and turned happily to Dawn, "You try, now. Remember, I will catch you if you fall, so don't worry." Dawn nodded and hopped on the end of the hollow and streched out her small, light gray wings with silvery bands on them.
She took a deep breath and jumped and flapped like crazy, to her surprise, she was in the air! She opened her eyes and flapped her wings, less crazy and she was flying, she was actually flying! She opened her beak and hotted the traditional Great Gray call happily.
"Come on back, Dawn! Don't get too far away!" She heard Amidali call behind her, Dawn nodded and flew back, flapping in rhythm. She landed clumsily on the nest, but overall, she flew excellently. Amidali looked so proud, she might explode of pride! "Dawn! I am so proud of your first flight! We should celebrate!" Dawn's eyes twinkled, "Celebrate? With voles?" Amidali smiled and chuckled, "Voles for my little Guardian!"Dawn smiled, she loved being called a Guardian, she just loved the Guardians of Ga'Hoole legends, and knew, some day she would fly to their tree and become a Guardian, to save the innocent, with Amidali at her side!
Dawn puffed up, "Yes! I shall get my own vole!" Amidali chuckled, "Not yet, my Guardian! You don't know how to dive yet, so I think I should destroy some of them for you!" Dawn was furiour she couldn't hunt for herself, but glad she wouldn't have to try!
_________________________________________________________
After the celebration, the two happy females fell asleep. Dawn was dreaming of flying over the Sea of Hoolemere, fully fledged, and there was others with her, she couldn't hear their names, but a Great Horned fell and she found herself diving after him! And then, a noise woke her up. She opened her eyes, Amidali already awake beside her.
Dawn whispered worridly, "What's that?" Amidali whispered back, "Stay here, I will take care of it." Then, as if summoned, a huge Barn Owl, a huge male with a metal mask flew in and attacked Amidali, and another Barn Owl flew in and tried to grab Dawn, but she fought back and scratched the Barn Owl's leg and bit his talons as he reached for her. Dawn looked over to see the horrid sight of her mother, Amidali, writhing in pain her neck bleeding and her wing dangling. Dawn screeched and scratched her attacker's throat, leaving a huge slit and blood splattered her light gray feathers and she flew out of the hollow flying as fast as her small wings could carry her, the blood drying on her feathers, making her look like a light gray-silvery red comet, flying through the sky.
Dawn was weeping, missing her mother and wondering how she would live on her own. Her gizzard clenched with dread. She yarped a pellet trying to calm herself down. And landed on a fig tree branch and huddled herself together, looking like a huge fluff ball. Then she heard a small voice, "Hello? Bloody gray owl? Are you alright?" She looked down, to see a small female Norhtern Saw-Whet owlet, who looked like herself, an orphan. Dawn nodded, "Yes... my name is Dawn." The female chirped back, "My name... is Frigitha... my parents died from a forest fire... so, can you help me?" Dawn nodded, "Sure, Friggy!"

And then, a glorious friendship began.

Introduction

Okay, this is not a clan, this is not a joining blog! This is a story blog for my enjoyment and yours.... Just wanting to make this clear before anything happens. This is about a small group of young owls.... their leader, Dawn, decides to call themselves "The Clan" because her foster parent Amilida keeps reffering the Guardians of Ga'Hoole as a clan, so she decided to put her in honor.

The owls of The Clan are:
Dawn
Frigitha "Friggy"
Flint
Frostbite
Dewin

(big, but not as big as it would have been)
I am doing seperate posts to explain these owls. Starting... NOW
